An app can be an extension of an existing service you already offer, such as a website or a store, as well as a standalone product.
Mobile or web applications?
Mobile applications is stored directly on the end user's device (mobile), and uses the operating system directly, unlike web applications. Web Applications uses servers and operating systems, and reaches out to end users through protocols such as HTTP to an app.
These backend systems can be built in many different ways. In Increo, we often work with Laravel or .NET, and then use NativeScript {N} to produce native iOS and Android apps.
UX design for apps
When it comes to designing an app, it's a bit different from web design. Therefore, it is also important to have designers who work closely with developers throughout the development run. For example, apps should have pages with one purpose. This is more and more common design practice on the web now, but for apps it's very important.
